Technical Direction Company (TDC) supplied and constructed a large cylinder shaped LED screen, which floated on a pontoon in the middle of Darling Harbor and was used as a Video Screen with 360degrees views of live content streaming the crowd and celebrations. This original LED screen consisted of specially designed C14 VuePix panels, which enable you to build attractive curve shaped displays in many configurations. The high brightness with excellent color uniformity of the screens delivers great visual effects. The C Series VuePix panels features a fast locking mechanism for easy installation, which also allows quick efficient maintenance.
The official part of the Australia Day Celebrations program in Darling Harbor was 'World Music and Dance' performances. The splendid floating stage hosted a colorful line up of the worlds best music artists with everything from Indigenous performers and contemporary Indian dance to West African music, Chinese performers, European folkloric groups, Caribbean reggae and Latin dance. The program continued with the 'Australia Day Spectacular' show in the evening, featuring addresses from the NSW Premier and the Governor, boat parades, a Water Police rescue, a live concert featuring the original music of Nigel Westlake played by the Sydney Youth Orchestra, a multimedia symphony of light, sound and music and a breathtaking finale of fireworks.
