Robe is sponsoring a student bursary run by London, UK based Lighting Designer Simon Brockwell of design practice SBLD, that will enable him to take a lighting design assistant to work alongside him for the upcoming 2013 VIVID Sydney Festival of Light Music & Ideas in Australia.

Simon is presenting his interactive ‘Nocturnal Pianola’ lighting installation and concept.

Robe’s relationship with Simon goes back to when he was a Lighting Design / Programming student at Rose Bruford College in Kent. When ‘Nocturnal Pianola’ was selected as one of the works to be exhibited at the festival, he approached Robe to see if they were interested in getting involved in Vivid.

Now in its sixth year, Stereosonic is unofficially Australia’s number one electronic music festival attracting over 170,000 people.

Dutch super-DJ, Tiësto, is a universal phenomenon, having been the world’s leading DJ for over 15 years. He is a king of dance music with a special ability to adapt and develop new dance sounds and always guaranteed to put on a spectacular show.

Unipub is a part of a significant group owned by the Dawn family, counting the Kingston Hotel and Civic Hotel as siblings. Unipub was formerly the ANZ's city HQ, so we're talking about a significant venue here, with a basement bar, a public bar, a second-floor bistro, a cocktail bar on the third and night club on the top floor.

The venue was looking for a freshen up of the nightclub, calling in Elite Sound & Lighting for an opinion. Elite suggested a complete re-orientation of the room, a brand new lighting spec, some extra impact for the PA and some goodies for the DJ booth. The owners pulled the trigger and Elite went to work.

The magnificent Gothic Cathedral of St Elizabeth in Košice, Slovak Republic, became the glowing centerpiece of the city’s Opening Ceremony celebrations for its year as European Capital of Culture in a spectacular lighting scheme featuring Robe and Anolis LED fixtures.

Truth be told, I asked for the demo MDG Atmosphere not knowing a real lot about it. I Just figured it was new and it must be somehow different to every other hazer on the market.  How right I was.

The Atmosphere dutifully arrived, accompanied by a phone call saying I should just locally source some CO2 to go with it. What the? Doesn’t it just run on haze juice like every other hazer?

Robe concluded its “Busiest and best” Prolight+Sound exhibition to date at the Frankfurt Messe!

The action-packed 4-day Robe schedule included the launch of six innovative new fixtures, a press event announcing the company’s sponsorship of Czech MotoGP racing star Karel Abraham and a show-stopping lightshow on the booth that had people packing the aisles each day waiting in anticipation … and receiving it with rounds of rapturous applause!

Over 300 Anolis ArcDot LED pixels have been installed to light the façade of the landmark waterslide at Noble Park Aquatic Centre (NPAC) in Melbourne, Australia.

The new lighting scheme designed by Electrolight for Suters Architects transforms the 19.5 metre structure into a gleaming iconic beacon of contemporary elegance that is clearly visible from the town centre. Dave Anderson led the design for Electrolight.

Elite Sound and Lighting were behind the production of Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) Awards, held late last year in Canberra. The AIS Awards recognise the outstanding achievements of athletes and coaches over the year.

The 2012 Awards were presented during an evening ceremony in the AIS Arena in Canberra. The night was hosted by Channel 7's Mark Beretta and woman's world surfing champion  Lane Beachly and celebrated the achievements of Australian sporting champions, highlighting the biggest moments and achievements of the season.

The main stage for the Awards Dinner featured VuePix L10 screen, configured into a  pyramid shape which was  used for Different organisation and company logo projection as well as the speaker’s background video effects. The specifically designed media content for the screen was streamed from an ArKaos A30 Media Server and scaled using a Vision Pro HD processor.

Guy Sebastian is getting ready for his new Australian "Get Along Tour 2013', which is planned to be even bigger and better then his 'Armageddon Tour', which he toured Nationally mid last year. Kicking off late March in Perth, Guy and his team will be on the road again for more then 3 months with 45 planned stops. The First 10 legs of the new tour have already sold out, which forecasts another very successful project of this first Australian Idol series winner.

Melbourne based event company, Powa Productions were behind the great success of the Armageddon Tour in 2012. A landmark new Anolis lighting scheme has been installed to illuminate Melbourne's iconic 'Red Sticks' urban sculpture on CityLink. It is 80% more energy efficient … and also ensures that the installation looks fantastic and crystal clear to all using the city's Tullamarine & Flemington Road Interchange.

A massive 70 metre yellow steel beam cantilevered at precarious angles traverses 8 lanes of freeway and 39 elegant 30 metre high steel and concrete red sticks run north / south either side of the road over 420 metres, depicting the city's panache and freedom for design, style and ideas.

A large number of Australian Harley Fanatics rode from all  corners of Australia to celebrate the 22nd Australian National HOG Rally in Canberra late last year. Nearly 1,500 members of the Harley Owners Group (HOG) joined in on the festivities over the three day meet and celebration held in the ACT.

The Australian Coal Preparation Society (ACPS) held its 14th National Conference ‘Stories from the Coal Face’ in Canberra late last year at Hotel Realm. The official Chairman’s Dinner was the pinnacle of this intensive 4 day event, staged in The Great Hall of Parliament House.

Bass in the Place provided an explosive countdown to 2013 for all Canberra locals, who came in force to celebrate  New Year's Eve 2012 with their friends and neighbours at Garema place.

Local stars, VJ Insan3 and DJ Rush started the Top 50 2012 songs countdown, before DJ Rawson dominated the dance floor with his creativity and skills behind the decks. DJ stars Chris Fraser & Timmy Trumpet followed spinning some of the biggest dance hits of the year untill late into the evening.

The ULA Group wrapped up another successful round of the Annual CX roadshow last week. The show travelled through 6 Australian states and territories, visiting each Capital city and showcasing to Australia’s industry professionals the latest technology from our entertainment Lighting product range - including Robe, VuePix, ArKaos, Litecraft, ChamSys, Avolites and MDG products.

The CX Roadshow kicked of in Perth mid February, welcoming first visitors from various areas of the professional market. The attendee list ranged from tech students, club owners, venue technicians to directors of Lighting and Audio rental and Installation companies. The always pleasant and relaxed Perth surprised exhibitors with the High attendance for this event. The numbers grew once again in Adelaide which was the second stop. A really good number of quality visitors including those from top Theatres and entertainment venues came in to check the latest products available on display.

The world’s hottest bands and electronic acts assembled together along with an army of true Australian festival die hards who returned to rock the parliamentary triangle again.
