The ultimate fight event – Total Carnage – showcasing the hard-knocks of traditional Muay Thai & Kickboxing, brought the world best modern-day gladiators to the Gold Coast on Saturday 7th April.

The Gold Coast convention & Exhibition Centre was transformed into the ultimate ‘Battledome’ for that night, combining ringside and grandstand seating. The Cross Promotions International together with Clifton Productions and Jupiters Hotel & Casino created a world-class boxing production, the best Australia has seen to date.

Music Lovers across all Australia enjoyed the summer vibes of the massive Future Music Festival 2012. Traveling from Brisbane to Perth, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide, with over 35 best Australian acts, DJs and international stars taking to the microphone to entertain the crowds in each city getting them pumped up to their tunes.

There were over ten hours of world-class music and festival entertainment spread across eight stages. Lighting designer Andy Mutton did the overall visual design component for the Future music festival, utilising VuePix screens and over 300 Robe fixtures dominating the stages. The lighting and visual equipment was supplied by Clifton Productions with Mick Parsons managing the lighting production.

Stereosonic – Australia’s largest electronic music festival, toured major Australian cities at the end of 2011. It kicked off in Sydney late November before heading to Perth, Melbourne, Adelaide and finishing in Brisbane late December.

From its humble beginnings, Stereosonic has become a big music festival featuring a mix of electronic and dance culture music. Its 5th year was hosting some of the top international acts, including trance titan Armin van Buuren, party-starters LMFAO, legendary Carl Cox, Empire of the Sun and many other stars from both Australia and overseas.

ULA Group enjoyed being a part of the first CX RoadShow, which travelled throughout Australia to five major cities, bringing customers great new products with unique features and latest technologies in professional entertainment lighting.

The first CX Roadshow ever kicked off in Brisbane on Monday 20th of February 2012. Everybody was a bit nervous with what to expect in this new format of ‘exhibition’, but from when the doors first opened customers came in their numbers, and we knew we had nothing to worry about. The quality of clients who came through the stand to experience our latest products and check the new technologies on the market was excellent, which set up really high expectations for the other cities.

Robin LEDWashes Celebrating Country Music Awards Print E-mail

HF Event Services in association with Norwest Productions won the tender to provide full-production for the 40th Country Music Awards held in Tamworth on 28th January 2012. Twenty Robe ROBIN 300 LEDWash fixtures were used to provide creative lighting for the 40th anniversary of this event.

Colin Baldwin was appointed production designer / manager and came up with a dual-purpose rig that could accommodate mode intimate and lyric modes with minimal turn-around. Twenty Robin 300 LEDWashes were used on the main stage, hung from vertical bars to light the performances of some of the biggest names of Australian country music. Richard Neville programmed and operated the lights, which many commented ‘was the best show seen in years’.

Cold Chisel "Light The Nitro" Tour Print E-mail

Cold Chisel, the Iconic Australian band toured Australia and New Zealand at the end of 2011 with their biggest Australian Tour to date “Light The Nitro”.

The immensely popular 10 weeks tour saw the first shows sell out and extra dates were added because of the demand. Shows varied from Circus Tents, Outdoor Stadiums to Large Arenas. This was also the first time the band used video as a part of their show.

Leading Australian Lighting designer Francesco Calvi used ArKaos Media Software to achieve his great creative visual show. Calvi comments: “ArKaos Media Master was the perfect tool for me on this tour. It proved to be the right choice, particular in the pre-production stage. Being able to quickly change and manipulate media while the band discussed their thoughts greatly the aided the whole creative process. It also gave added confidence to the production.”

Robe LEDWash 600s Impress at the New Zealand Music Awards Print E-mail

Leading New Zealand lighting designer Ben Cooper utilised 24 Robe ROBIN 600 LEDWash moving light fixtures – amongst others – for the 2011 Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards (VNZMA’s), which honoured the very best of established and emerging talent spanning a diversity of genres.

The high profile event – produced by J and A Productions for the Recording Industry Association of New Zealand (RIANZ) - was staged in the Vector Arena in Auckland. It is the largest and highest profile Awards show in the country. This 46th edition of the VNZMA’s featured live performances from a host of stars including Brooke Fraser, The Naked and Famous, Ladi6, Six60, Tiki Taane and Avalanche City and legendary Kiwi band Supergroove. It was telecast live on national Channel FOUR.
